Gabriele Mazzini is the architect and lead author of the proposal for the Artificial Intelligence Act (AI Act) by the European Commission. Before joining the European Commission in 2017, Gabriele held several positions in the private sector in New York and served in the European Parliament and the EU Court of Justice. He has an LLM from Harvard Law School, a PhD in Italian and Comparative Criminal Law from the University of Pavia, and a Law Degree from the Catholic University in Milan. Senior Principal Research at Microsoft Research

Rich Caruana is a senior principal researcher at Microsoft Research. Before joining Microsoft, Rich was on the CS faculty at Cornell , at UCLA’s Med School, and at CMU’s Center for Learning and Discovery. Rich’s Ph.D. is from CMU. His thesis on Multi-Task Learning helped create interest in a new subfield of machine learning called Transfer Learning.
